The Cityhood conversion of Bogo and 15 other LGUs was again declared by the Supreme Court
as unconstitutional last August 2010.
THE ROLLERCOASTER
The legal battle for the cityhood claim has become a rollercoaster ride for the 16 LGUs.
In 2007, these LGUs were approved as new component Cities. But the League of Cities of the Philippines whose officials were disgusted by the conversion of these towns to cities perhaps because of the only reason that they were not able to receive the suppose exact amount of increase in their Internal Revenue Allotment shares, filed the nullification of the 16’s cityhood laws.
